Lawyer Fábio Stefani, partner at Dupont Spiller Fadanelli Advogados (DSF), was present at the Annual Tax Conference of AIJA – International Association of Young Lawyers, which took place from March 9 to 11 in Norway. Participation in the event was aimed at seeking more knowledge and updates on the application of international tax rules that may affect regional companies with global operations.
According to the expert, there is a guideline from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) on taxation in the face of the digitalization of the economy. The impact, in practice, is still being determined by the companies. “It could impact an increase in taxation for Holdings Companies that operate globally and have passive income, such as receiving royalties”, explains Stefani.
