DSF acted as legal advisor on the acquisition of Cristal Embalagens by Mega Goglio, the Brazilian company of the Italian group Goglio. The deal was closed in July.

Cristal is a flexible packaging manufacturer based in Morro da Fumaça, Santa Catarina, with more than 25 years in the market. Mega Goglio acquired 100% of the company and took over its management, an important step in the group's growth strategy in Latin America.

The legal work followed the acquisition from the final four months of last year through to closing, with DSF's São Paulo team working alongside the Rio Grande do Sul team.

"The main aspect to consider, from the buyer's perspective, is care with the risks of the transaction," says José Cláudio Fadanelli, lawyer and partner at DSF.

According to Fadanelli, other deals between companies were completed over the course of the year and further transactions are under way.
